Brazil’s Flavio Gualberto has made Trentino a possibility. The Italian club Itas Trentino Trento claimed their 2024-2025 season roster complete after signing with the Brazilian star named Flavio. The 31-year-old middle blocker Flavio was the last of head coach Fabio Soli’s squad, replacing last season’s team captain Marko Podrascanin of Serbia in the starting line-up.
Flavio won many championships with Trento from Germany, where finished fourth and then won three of the four competitions he participated in. Flavio follows Matt Anderson, Abdel-Aziz, and Holt, as Trento’s fourth foreigner.
Flavio told “Trentino Volley is a dream club. I couldn’t say ‘no’ to their offer. After the last three years in the Italian championship, I had decided to return to play in Brazil, also because very soon I will become a dad. My wife is called Bruna and should give birth in September and at first we thought it would be easier to live this moment in our country.
I have long dreamed of having a family and now I am very excited. However, when Trento called me, I gladly revised my plan… I didn’t think twice – I will play in a club with a great tradition and that has always been able to be competitive on multiple fronts”. Flavio will arrive at the club following a highly successful season with Sir Susa Vim Perugia.
