After weeks of suspense, the Brad Pitt-led untitled Formula One movie being shot at racetracks around the world for release in cinemas next June finally has a title, having been announced on Friday.
The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Top Gun: Maverick, which grossed $1.49 billion worldwide, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, will be called… “F1,” and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in cinemas and IMAX.
This is following an official ‘teaser’ for the film being published on Sunday, the day before the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where filming has already been taking place. The story follows Pitt, a 60-year-old actor, who in real life plays a former driver on a surprising Formula comeback alongside playing rookie teammate Damson Idris at apxgp racing.
In real life, Pitt has been putting in laps on track with seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton offering advice as a co-producer, with filming having occurred at tracks in Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
