Glover is looked to by Britain to repair rowing’s reputation – News Sports

Having seen their period as Olympic rowing’s preeminent superpower brought abruptly to a halt in Tokyo, when Team GB failed to secure a single gold medal, Britain will head to the Paris Games seeking to return to the pinnacle of the pile.

No nation has navigated the rowing podium in recent decades more frequently than the British rowers, who topped the medals table in both 2008, 2012, and 2016. However, Britain’s vast experience with Helen Glover is poised to get the trio back on track in the women’s four.

“For two years, we’ve been working on building this four,” the coach stated after a dominant British victory in the European Championships.

“I believe we’ve developed the greatest combination of power, technique, and fitness we can muster. This summer, it will be extremely difficult to defeat this powerful four.”
