Australia’s Alex de Minaur withdrew from his Wimbledon quarter-final against second seed Novak Djokovic due to a hip injury on Wednesday, allowing the Serbian through to equal Rafael Nadal in setting up a record-extending 13th semi-final at The Championships.
De Minaur, the ninth seed at Flushing Meadows, suffered the injury late in Monday’s 6-2 6-4 4-6 6-3 fourth-round win against unseeded Frenchman Arthur Fils.
