Simone Biles wore a goat necklace after winning her second Olympic all-around title – News Sports

U.S. Olympian Simone Biles wears two new pieces at Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The U.S. gymnast took all-around gold on Thursday evening (1 August) to become the first two-time non-consecutive winner and first woman with two Olympic all-around titles since Vera Čáslavská in 1964-68.

Standing atop the podium – following a blowout floor exercise routine inside Bercy Arena where she briefly wore an opulent diamond-encrusted goat necklace around her neck before International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach slid a gold medal over it, too — makes it easy for anyone who doubts that claim.

“Now my goat necklace is basically just like an ode because [some] people love it and some people hate it,” Biles said. If anything it’s the best of both worlds. I was like, Ok… if it is good…. we would get the goat necklace ‘I think people are going to go insane for this. ”

The 23-time world champion and arguably G.O.A.T. gymnast of all time

She ranks third among female gymnasts with six career Olympic gold medals, behind Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union and Čáslavská.

Afterward, Biles said, “In the end I’m human,” adding: “because at the end of the day it’s like ‘can you be him or her?’ And that’s not me. That is insane.”
